Hej, today I’m going to review the Time Freeze Intensive Cream by Laneige. It’s been about 3 months using this cream and I thought it would be the perfect time to do a review on it. For the next review/haul I do, I plan to take photos in a different spot and also diversify the photos I take because my photos seem so dull and boring 😦 so stay tuned! Oh, and also get my DSLR fixed asap!

I like how futuristic and minimal the Laneige containers look like. Although the cream itself is the most important factor I considered when buying, I think the designs of beauty product are very important too.
When you open it, it looks like this
After peeling off the Laneige seal, there’s an easy to use lid to open and seal tight.
The colour of the cream is ivory and the consistency is very stubborn. When you look at it, It doesn’t have any stickiness or elasticity at all, just pure thick whipped cream-like consistency. But when you apply it onto your face, it’s a different feeling.
This cream is actually for the Winter season and Fall season since it has a thicker consistency than the usual cream. So if you’re looking for a skin-protecting cream, this is the one. However, I don’t recommend it for hot weather as it can feel heavy on the skin, with make up applied on top.
Here’s a photo of my hand before application.
For the first few times, I applied with a spatula but then I got lazy and just started using my fingers. The idea of using a spatula for putting stuff like that on the face is a very creative, hygienic approach. However, that means you have to keep both your hands and spatula clean which was just a bother for me. And from my experience, no matter how clean you keep the product and no matter what you use whether it’s a spoon, a knife, a spatula to put it on, the cream inside WILL get dirty somehow. It’s the same as bobby pins. No matter how many you buy, they will disappear. That’s the downside of these types of packaging.
And here’s my hand with a thin layer of cream applied. You can see that overall, my hand has become shinier and glossy. When I applied to my face, the consistency was very creamy and fitting. I could feel the cream really soaking into my skin instantly. It’s like the feeling of putting on a sleeping pack but much more absorbent. It kept my skin moist for about 30 mins. But after that, I couldn’t really feel the residue of the cream left on my face, which was very good for me since I have oily combination skin. I was left with like a layer of skin protectant which was very effective for me during the cold Winter season in Korea.
I wouldn’t say that it was the best cream for acne or blemishes because I didn’t feel like any of my imperfections were getting any better but good for whitening and firming. Another good thing about this cream was that I could see some of the wrinkle lines on the side of my eyes were fading. Not a lot but slightly.
The best part about this cream is that I got compliments from people that my skin whitened. Honestly, I prefer having a more natural, healthy looking skin colour but in Korea, it’s a good compliment to tell some one that “you have pale white skin.” I’ll do a post on “Korean beauty standards” soon.
And to finish off, these were all of the samples I got for just one purchase! I was very pleased with how much they gave me. I think this is the best part about Korean beauty products. You get to test a ton of different products out before purchasing them, which is a very clever marketing strategy. Way to go Korea! I only tried out the IOPE toner and lotion which I enjoyed. I am thinking of buying them in full sizes too when I finish using this cream up.
– Very firm feeling when applied onto the face
– The “oiliness” of the cream will absorb into the skin pretty fast
– Protects your skin from the cold
– Not the most practical packaging
– Not suitable for all 4 seasons
– Quite expensive for a single cream which is 50ml
Design – 8/10
Whitening – 7/10
Price – 6/10
Absorption – 8/10
